Nothing has happened to One God.
It is only that ,we do not follow Gurmat implicitly, thus we are full with mind/ manmukhta, and the consequences due to this negative impact.
When He is out of sight, darkness of haume surround us fully.
And as we all know, in darkness the outcome is " chaos" at all levels.
Though I do understand your point of view, I can only suggest you to undrestand the Bani as it is,( not how we are told it to be)and apply it in your daily life.
Only then shall have His Jyot surrounding and guiding us towards His Darbar.
There where He is, nothing else more exist, only He.
