Okay, but people can just say 'no thank you' to the meat and accept other offerings?? Some people do not eat anything oily or anything sweet, and so they politely decline in the Sri Langar Sahib ji. What I am trying to say is that meat is banned for a reason and it is because it does not fall in lines with:
ਮਨਤਨਅੰਤਰਿਸਿਮਰਨਗੋਪਾਲ॥मनतनअंतरिसिमरनगोपाल॥
Man ṯan anṯar simran gopāl.
Within his mind and body, he meditates in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਭਊਪਰਿਹੋਵਤਕਿਰਪਾਲ॥सभऊपरिहोवतकिरपाल॥
Sabẖūpar hovaṯ kirpāl. He is kind to all creatures.
ਆਪਿਦ੍ਰਿੜੈਅਵਰਹਨਾਮੁਜਪਾਵੈ॥आपिद्रिड़ैअवरहनामुजपावै॥Āp ḏariṛai avrah nām japāvai.
He holds fast to the Naam, and inspires others to chant it.
ਨਾਨਕਓਹੁਬੈਸਨੋਪਰਮਗਤਿਪਾਵੈ॥੨॥नानकओहुबैसनोपरमगतिपावै॥२॥
Nānak oh baisno param gaṯ pāvai. ||2||
O Nanak, such a Vaishnaav obtains the supreme status. ||2||
